A Thesis!

So, yesterday, I was informed by my supervisor, that it would look good in the long run if I wrote a thesis as part of my research program. Not like a graduate thesis, but similar.

At first, I was more than excited. It finally meant that I would be able to write about all my research on the Tilde Framework, which is the framework from which Stuxnet, DUQU, and Flame malware are supposedly produced.
However, for my major, a thesis means that I need to include a program or something I can build for support. :(

Therefore, I've been trying to figure out how to incorporate that fact into my excitement about the Tilde Framework, but I don't want to try to add to the Tilde Framework, because its being used for cyber attacks and espionage against Iran and Iran-friendly countries. Plus, it uses Objective-C, an older language that my major never even touches. [But that does give me an idea.....]

So, I'm trying to expand my reaches beyond the Tilde Framework, and find something else that excites me just as much.

That being said, an internship with Symantec next summer may not be as out-of-reach as I thought. It just means that I now need to start prioritizing the dozens of goals I've been setting for myself recently. Either way, I'm looking forward to what the future has to offer, and I'm feeling less and less afraid of life.

Hello, All!

"Life is such a beautiful gift. I hope I don't waste it."

Hello, all! This is officially my first post. I've been thinking a lot about the future, and if you know me, then that's no surprise. I find that constantly thinking about the future, however, can be a problem because you often forget to just live in the future, but I'm a planner, so it's inevitable. I'm working on finding a balance, though.

What to say to you all today....for one, I'm super excited about the new Flame virus I was reading about. I did some heavy research into the Stuxnet virus and Duqu trojan for a school project of my choosing, and just fell in love. I would kill to be a researcher for Kaspersky Labs, or Symantec. It just seems like so much fun. But, that's probably not as interesting to you all as it is to me. Still super excited, though!

What else? Basically, this blog is just a place to jot down random thoughts and watch how I change over the years. That's if I can stick to it. I've never been the type to own a diary. Instead, I have dozens of journals and sheets of paper containing random thoughts, poems, short stories, and pictures. Meaning, I tend to randomly write down poetry, stories or favorite quotes on the closest piece of paper I can find.

Currently, as my profile says, I'm a senior in college, so I guess it makes sense that the future is of significance at the moment. There are so many things I would like to be able to do. I'm hoping to intern at a DataMaxx, a company who's major goal is security. It has me written all over it. I also want to pick up a few more programming languages, start learning a new language (I took Latin all throughout high school, which only benefited me on my SATs and being able to pick up certain words in other languages), and take my A+ and maybe one other, or two other, certification exams. I have a few more goals for this year, but that's just to name a few.

I have another post in mind, something that's been weighing heavy on my mind as I've been thinking about my future. I'll probably be putting that up soon.

On another note, I have my graduation present to myself already picked out--a cross-country road trip. I'm SUPER excited. If you guys have any tips or advice, or know of any good places to check out, I will be more than happy to hear.

Before I end this post, here's some good music to wake up to:
Awesome, awesome, awesome.

Or, if you like:
She's not my personal preference, but she does wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy, so I guess it fits this post.
